本日はスタジオ・ワンから１９６９年にリリースされたキラー・インストを紹介します。
オリジナルはSly & The Family Stoneが１９６８年にリリースしたSing a Simple Song
ですがこちらはサンプリング・ネタとしての方が人気が高く特に中盤のブレイクは多くの
アーチストにサンプリングされていているのでジャンルを超えてDjイベントなんかで耳に
する事が多々あるのではないでしょうか？

セットでプレイしてもいいとは思いますが個人的にはオリジナルよりカバーの方がウケが
いいような気がします。なんと言ってもこの曲は現場の空気をガラッと変えることができる
キラー・インストではないかと勝手ながら思っています。

今日紹介するレコードはその当時将来を有望視されていたが僅か２５歳の若さで亡くなったR&Bアーチスト、JOHNNY ACEの曲でPLEDGING MY LOVEです。この曲は彼が亡くなった翌５５年に１０週連続R&Bチャート１位を記録し、数多くのアーチストにカバーされています。マーヴィン・ゲイ＆ダイアナ・ロス、アーロン・ネヴィル、エルビス・プレスリー、JAMAICAではジョン・ホルトやフレディーもカバーしています。私はジョン・ホルトのカバーよりもフレディー・マグレガ－のカバーが好きです。一度オリジナルと聴き比べてみて下さい。

　私が"ALTON ELLIS"の中で一番大好きな曲"DIANA"を紹介します。自分でプレイするのもそうですが、他人がプレイしていてもテンション上がりっぱなしです(笑)今は亡くなってしまって彼のステージを生で見る事ができませんが、レコードを聴くだけでも鳥肌物です。マジで最高の一曲ですよ~是非聴いて下さい!!!! オリジナルはポール・アンカの大名曲なので説明不要かと思います
