珍しく連日の更新ですが昨日に引き続きソウル系を。
今日紹介する一枚はデイビット・クロフォードプロデュースの１９７６年フリーソウル・ディスコ
の大名曲"young hearts run free - candi staton"です。レイタウンなんかでかかって
いるジャマイカン・ソウルが好きな方はご存知かと思います。

キャンディ・ステイトン（７１歳で現在もバリバリ活動中のアラバマ出身のソウル／ゴスペル界を
代表する女性シンガー）が爽快に歌い上げるこの曲はいつ聴いても自分を元気にしてくれるお
気に入りの一枚です。レゲエではPAM HALLがカバーしてます。他にも彼女の曲で"Victim"
（１９７８年）もオススメです。

個人的にはオリジナルのJONES GIRLS（デトロイト出身の姉妹）もいいですがARIWA
からリリースしているBLACK MAGIKCのカバーも最高。同じくUKからですがJENNIFER
BENJAMINのカバーも中々いいです。この曲のカバーはどれもハズレなしって感じかな。

行楽シーズンの季節に車を運転しながら聴いてもいいし、休日の昼にイージーリスニング的

な感じで聴いても最高なんじゃないかなって思ってます。この曲の出だしを聴いてると何だか
ウキウキしてくるな～流石スウィート・フィリーって呼ばれてるだけあるね。

余談ですが今年こそはフィリーズ（メジャーリーグの球団で個人的に大ファン）がワールド
シリーズを制覇して王者に!!!!去年はセカンドステージでジャイアンツに負けたからな・・・

が、今回は彼の作品で一番好きな曲を紹介します。この曲のサンプリングしたEAST END×YURI

の『DA.YO.NE』が日本で流行ったみたいです。自分は知りませんでしたが（笑）

　そんで彼は、１９６０年代から活躍しているアーチストでマイルス・デイヴィスの初のエレクトリック・ジャズ作品Miles in the Skyのレコーディングにも参加しているBIG MANです。６８歳の今なお現役で活動されているアーチストなんで是非チェックしてみて下さい。
